Can Cellulite Actually Be Prevented?

The process of cellulite development has affected people of all ages, gender, height and weight. And the sad truth about cellulite is that it cannot be stopped or avoided. Cellulite is a build-up of fatty cells especially around the thighs, stomach, and arms.

People who have lost weight can make the effects of cellulite much less noticeable. Cellulite development is more prevalent in women because of their thinner skin. Men also are susceptible to cellulite development, but it usually appears in their old age and not in every part of the body as may be the case with women.

  • Healthy diet: Maintain a healthy diet consisting of vegetables and fruits that contain vitamins and minerals. This will help keep the skin supple and elastic, thus ensuring less chances of cellulite development.

  • Other Habits: To avoid cellulite you can quit smoking and drinking, which dehydrate the skin and can cause premature aging.

  • Skin Care: Proper skin maintenance will help reduce effects of cellulite development. Cellulite development increases in skin which is thin and has lost its elasticity, so it's important to ensure that the skin has elasticity. This can be done with the help of moisturizers as well as sun block every day. It may not prevent cellulite from appearing, but it will not be as noticeable. Nowadays, there are many creams and lotions in the market which are claiming to help stop cellulite development and the already spread cellulite to disappear, but this is not the truth. Cellulite cannot be avoided permanently. But what is important to note here is that if the lotions are not used continuously, cellulite development might return.

  • Advanced Ways: Nowadays people also take the help of medical technology like caffeine being injected at the cellulite developed areas to help reduce them.

  • Massage Therapy: Massaging of the body helps cellulite look less pronounced and is a much less expensive alternative to medical injections and more effective than creams or lotions. In fact, it's a quite relaxing experience that can help us keep the process of cellulite development in check. Apart from being a method to stall the process of cellulite development, it's also a great way to keep your skin looking perfect.

We have now discussed what may be the probable ways to keep cellulite development in check but the best way by far is maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly. Although some of the methods are very effective, none of them are foolproof ways of getting rid of cellulite.

We cannot stop or avoid cellulite permanently. We can, however, keep fit and also maintain a healthy diet and use creams and lotions that will result in flawless skin. So, even though we might end up having cellulite, we can have a healthier lifestyle. We can always hope that scientists might come up with a cure or be able to prevent cellulite, but meanwhile, we have to live with it.
