Causes of Cellulite - Can you prevent it from Happening?

Cellulite can creep up without any warning and by the time we do take notice it has set in. We can take consolation in the fact that we are not alone in being influenced by cellulite since there are millions of people worldwide who are becoming victims of this skin occurrence. Cellulite can happen at any age, weight, height, gender etc. Experts have researched and conducted studies on cellulite and have narrowed down the factors which influence the onset of cellulite. Since there is no known cure for cellulite, it's important to be aware of the factors that influence cellulite development. You should be conscious of which factors are increasing your chances of having cellulite or even increasing the pace of cellulite development.

The factors that influence the process of cellulite development are listed below:

  • Food & Diet: Experts claim the food you eat impacts whether or not you will get cellulite. According to conducted research, they feel that food items which are normally considered to be "toxins" to the body like fried food, alcohol, caffeine, and sugar play a major part in cellulite development process. This is mainly because these food items are rejected by the body as junk and it ultimately converts them to cellulite. Experts also stress on the daily consumption of water because otherwise we might be at risk for cellulite problems. Hence, the daily consumption of water for a normal person should be at least eight glasses a day to keep away health problems including cellulite development.

  • Exercise: Experts believe that the key to prevent cellulite development is exercise. This is because it helps in the enhanced circulation of blood, decreases muscle tension and will give better lymphatic flow. Hence, it's essential that we exercise regularly to stop or prevent the cellulite development.

  • Hereditary: Many experts have pointed out the major role of genes in the emergence of cellulite development. If any of your parents/grandparents had/has cellulite, your chances of having cellulite development is very high in spite of keeping in tune with the above factors like monitoring the food intake and exercising regularly. Even though we cannot control the onset if it's a hereditary trait, we can certainly look for the early signs of cellulite and take preventive measures.

Since there is no known cure for cellulite you can try out any of the above options like healthy food and drinking habits and regular exercise as prescribed for the average man or woman. So, you should maintain a healthy diet and not eat junk food, drink plenty of water, do regular exercise, and be on the lookout for early signs of cellulite development. Since all these are not only required to slow down or avoid cellulite development, it's also your mantra for health living.
